How long have you been wedding planning and how did you become a wedding planner?

I have been in the Wedding and Event Industry for 8 years. After studying at Kangan Batman, William Angliss Tafe and RMIT I secured Event Management positions at The Willows and Quat Quatta before opening Mackenzi Creations in 2009

When I was 4 years old my Kinder teacher was getting married and I just had to go, I still remember her wedding day, when I watched her walk down the aisle I knew at that moment that weddings would be my life. So growing up I did everything possible to gain knowledge of the industry so I could create beautiful weddings … and here we are.

We love your packages and portfolio …. What sets you apart from all the other Wedding Planners?

I am an all in kind of gal. My Packages are all about : PLAN + STYLE + CO-ORDINATE.

Most wedding planners only take care of one or two of those elements I care about your whole wedding day,every minute!

I PLAN– No mater which package you choose we will always start with an extensive planning appointment. It’s important for me that all options are explored and discussed. I am also here for you every step of the way to make the planning process easier and stress free

I STYLE –Most stylist have their own style and a lot of their weddings look the same. I am not like that. No two loves are the same and no two weddings should be the same. I work in a collaborative approach with you. It’s about YOUR STORY and how we can entwine all those special qualities about your personality, your love for each, your passion and your own style into the day so when your guests walk in they beam with “oh that’s so them!” It’s about making your wedding look like YOUR wedding not something everyone has seen before.

I CO-ORDINATE – I dedicate 17 hours on the day to you and your wedding. I am there for you in the morning, throughout the ceremony and for the WHOLE night. I don’t leave after “important formalities” every minute is important. I’m there for you , your fiancé, your guests. You don’t have to worry for any second because I am there the whole time – a blink away. Not only am I ensuring your day is running smoothly but I’m also making sure everything is always looking just the way you wanted it (yes I have a lighter and I run around re-lighting candles at 10pm at night because you should be able to look back at the room while your dancing the night away and it still looks the way it did when everyone walked in) … Things happen throughout the night – your bustle might break – I am there to re sew it, something might happen with the decor or something needs to be taken care of with your guests – Im am there ensuring everyone is having the best celebration.

I CARE – I truly care about you and your fiancé. I am here the whole time for you even if it is just for a bridal vent I am here. And on the day I am there for you I take care of everything , I care about you and your guests enjoyment.

IT’s about YOU not me. Some planners can persuade you into going in a direction they are more comfortable with or do all the time. My range of weddings and styles varies because everyone is different. I believe no two weddings should be alike I am here to help you create YOUR wedding day the way you want it to be.

It all sounds wonderful but is it expensive?

I have a range of packages that can suit all budgets. The payments are in Instalments so it’s not just one hit payment which helps. There is a 20% deposit to secure the date and get started then depending on which package you chose Instalments along the way.

Being able to enjoy your wedding day without hassles, saving time and above all STRESS and worry – it’s priceless you only get this one day EVER! Even if it is a second marriage you only get that ONE WEDDING DAY ONCE! So isn’t is worth every penny to be able to enjoy every moment with no regrets…

And also keep in mind that I pass on all industry discounts to you saving money and with my knowledge, experience and contacts I take the risk out of planning your wedding so you don’t waste money on bad suppliers

Why do prices vary from Supplier to Supplier? Wedding Planner to Wedding Planner?

There are many factors you need to consider when hiring anyone for any part of your wedding. If you are comparing prices make sure you compare Oranges to Oranges not Oranges to Lemons. The fact is the Better the supplier the lower the risk you have of anything going wrong and  your day will be BEST DAY EVER! –  The Higher the Quality the More expensive 

Things to consider and even ask the suppliers …

Experience – How long have they been in the industry and how many weddings have they actually created? The more experienced the supplier the more expensive they would and honestly should be because they are better equipped to handle different situations and have perfected ways of creating your day. The risk factor is LOWER with an experienced supplier and things are less likely to go wrong. You get ONE chance for your day – you can’t go back and change mistakes so the higher experience the Lower the risk the better for not only your piece of mind but for a seamless day

Knowledge – What knowledge do they have, do they have accreditations in the field? or did they – “plan their own wedding day,had so much fun so now they want to be a wedding planner? Or did they purchase a DSLR camera take some pics at a friends wedding and now decided Oh I can be a photographer” – If they have dedicated YEARS to studying the field that’s years of knowledge that are very valuable. The more knowledge of the industry again the Lower risk

Compare the pair – Cross check each package – How Many HOURS included. Yes you might compare both of their highest package but WHAT DO YOU GET in each package. If your getting more time or more inclusions then of course it is going to be more expensive.

Dedication and Time – Is this their Full time job? Are they on call 24/7 for you or is this a hobby or part time job? Will they be there for you ANYTIME you need them? How much dedication do they give to each client? How many other clients do they take on? Are you just another booking or do they only take on limited weddings to ensure more dedication? – Of course the more that supplier dedicates to you thats TIME they are spending on your wedding and you! 

Versatility – Can they do different weddings or are they just stuck with the one style? The more diverse the more unique YOUR wedding is going to be. 

All of the above go hand in hand. Of course everyone needs to start somewhere but it is about taking the RISK, STRESS & WORRY out of your day – The better your team of suppliers the easier, less stressful, enjoyable and of course seamless your wedding will be.

It’s true, You pay peanuts you get monkeys … You get one chance for this day wouldn’t you want the best team to be there for you, guiding you through the planning, ensuring it is unique in the style and flawless on the day so you and all your guests WILL have THE BEST DAY EVER! 

Who do you work best with?

I am here for the Brides and Grooms that want to enjoy their wedding day and enjoy planning their day without stresses and risks.

I have created many weddings for couples that are Interstate or international – having me in Melbourne be your eyes, ears and legs helps so very much. My Melbourne brides also love that I am right here for them aswell. – Basically if your a Bride in the world getting married in Melbourne and you want your wedding day to be a wonderful celebration where everyone – including you and your fiance can enjoy every minute – than I’m the gal for you.

Who is not going to benefit from your services?

Couples that only want someone there to set up – like I said I’m an all in kind of gal it’s important your day not only look stunning but it’s seamless and stress free for every minute.

Will I loose control of my wedding if your planning ?

No I work in a colloaborative style and your privey to all the details. I am an open book. It’s about working together to create the best day Ever. Creating a wedding day that’s even better than your dreamed

Will you work with other vendors or only ones on your list?

I am happy to work with anyone. I have an amazing network of suppliers but this industry is so big and just because I haven’t worked with a particular supplier before doesn’t mean they aren’t good it just means we haven’t worked together. We are all here for the same goal to make your wedding day the best, there have been ego’s I have come across but its water off a ducks back. I like to work with people not against people to ensure your day is flawless

Do you take more than one wedding on the same day?

No. My whole focus is YOU! I also only take limited weddings a year to ensure the highest of quality and dedication to each of my brides and grooms.
